WINDOW RESTORATION

Hi All – Greg’s post looking for new window recommendations made me

want to share our experience when faced with the same window problem. 

When we bought our house a few years ago, we assumed we needed to

replace the windows.  Most were broken, painted shut and covered with

peeling paint that was no doubt lead.  By chance, we worked with

 someone who suggested restoring them.  We had all the paint removed

 and the windows restored to full function for less than replacement

 cost.  They are only slightly less efficient than new ones and are now

 one of the nicest features of our house.  Wanamaker restoration on
